Who broke the Elden ring? [other theories]
After gaining knowledge of the game, completing Ranni’s quest and ending, and basing my theory on the original cinematic trailer, I have come to the following conclusions about who destroyed the Elden Ring:
What we know for sure from the game’s text and dialogue:
The Queen indirectly commits suicide and destroys Godwin, Golden’s soul, turning him into the Prince of Death. This event sparked a major, divisive conflict between the realms, in which all Shard Bearers used the Great Runes to create the Elden Ring, destroying the realm in a long-lasting power struggle.
Ranni is the Moon Princess of the Carian royal family who previously worshiped and studied the stars and the moon. He was the bearer of the fragments of the Golden Order, but he threw away his runes when he burned himself in the Carrion Divine Tower. Half of the mark on his face was the mark of death, while the other half was that of Godwin, the spirit of Gold.
I believe the motivation is:
Ranni was the one who initiated the destruction of the Elden Ring. He did this to liberate Middle-earth by force of great will. The Great Will and the Erdtrees that evolve from the Elden Beasts sent by it appear to be parasitic beings in the universe.
It is likely that Ranni, as the Moon Princess, was trying to liberate Middle-earth and restore the power of the stars and the moon, which empowered the people of Middle-earth who studied them before the time of Erdtree. did. Did. They are not a force that directly influences the world, but a society that derives its power from that world.
However, it appears that Marika destroyed the ring in her grief after the release of The Prince of Death, as indicated by the flavor text on Marika’s Hammer which reads:
The stone hammer was made in the land of Numen outside Middle-earth. Queen Marika finds the device she used to destroy the Elden Ring and Radagon attempts to repair it.
The ring’s breakage partially destroyed the hammer, causing the rune to shatter into pieces.
Here are the reasons that led me to this last word:
Ranni, Princess of the Moon, was one of the Shard Bearers who, in defiance of the High Will, burned herself to death in the Sky Tower of Lake Liurnia.
To save her life, she transforms into Rune, the Snow Witch, and takes the form of a doll, which you’ll discover during the Reindeer’s Rise questline.
The Queen’s plot requires her to take revenge on Two Fingers, who represents the Great Will’s rule over the universe and the Golden Order. Despite his past as a carrier of fragments, his goal is to destroy these objects for unknown reasons.
Queen Marika of the Golden Order and the Great Will who controls Radagon appears at the end of the game as a creature known as the Elden Beast. This organism appears to be an extraditable unit.
This incident leads me to believe that Ranni was aware of this and that is why she committed suicide and threw away her great rune. He would presumably break free of its influence and destroy the Elden Ring, freeing the other Shard holders.
The Great Will essentially exploits the Shardbearers for power. For example, he possibly convinced Radahn to stop the stars because another entity similar to him was trying to enter Middle-earth.
Noxstella, a naturally born void-born Estel who lives in the lowest level of the Eternal City, suggested this. By completing the Reindeer’s Rise quest you will find Estel, Naturebird of the Void.
Ranni’s research also reveals that she needs Nocron’s Finger Slayer sword, the Eternal City, to free herself and continue her terrible path. He will then give you an overturned statue, which will allow you to reach the top of Carrion’s tower, where his body is.
A “curse mark of death” is found on the body, and the flavor text indicates that Ranni is the first goddess to die. Not only committing suicide, but also killing the soul of the “Prince of Death”. When both parts of the Death Curse Mark were combined, they actually killed a god.
He killed Ranni’s body but did not kill his soul. Who now resides inside the doll he inhabits and kills not the body but the soul of the Prince of
Death. The curse words are as follows:
A curse is carved into the flesh left by the witch Rainy. It is also known as the wounded half-wheel centipede.
This curse mark was made at the time of the death of the first god and is believed to be circular.
However, the two gods died at the same time, causing the curse mark to be destroyed in the two half wheels.
Ranni is the first god whose body is destroyed, while the Prince of Death is destroyed only in spirit.
The Shattering begins with the release of “Prince of Death”. This destruction implies that Ranni sacrificed herself to destroy the Elden Ring, resulting in the destruction.
Their goal is to end the Two Fingers and the Great Will controlling the Golden Order and usher in a new era. The Prince of Death was once known as Godwin the Golden, as evidenced by the flavor text on the Pustule Amulet of the Prince of Death, which reads:
A curse is carved into the flesh left by the witch Rainy. It is also known as the wounded half-wheel centipede.
This curse mark was made at the time of the death of the first god and is believed to be circular.
However, the two gods died at the same time, causing the curse mark to be destroyed in the two half wheels.
Ranni is the first god whose body is destroyed, while the Prince of Death is destroyed only in spirit.
The Shattering begins with the release of “Prince of Death”. This destruction implies that Ranni sacrificed herself to destroy the Elden Ring, resulting in the destruction.
The rotten grains remove the facial flesh and increase the vitality. (Life force controls resistance to the effects of death.)
The blemish is said to come from the face of the Prince of Death commonly known as Godwin. It is said that as the first to die among the gods, he was buried in the roots of Erdtree, within the capital. Perhaps Ranni intended to destroy the Golden Order and the Great Will because he worshiped another god, who took the form of the moon. Her past life as the Moon Princess Queen of the Carian Royal Family reinforces this concept.
The Carian royal family discovered the magic of the Glintstone, gaining its power directly from the stars and the power of the Moon, before the stars were controlled by Radahan and the Golden Order, ending its influence on Earth.Carion and the royal family of Caria are believed to have existed before the time of Eardtree, meaning they were in Middle-earth before the Elden Ring and the founding of Eardtree.
It also reveals that, after killing the Elden Beast, the only “god” in the game, and summoning Ranni, the large moon in the background that appears to change appears to have a spiral-shaped black mark on his face. Yes, he comments: “I swear on every living creature and every living soul. Now comes the age of stars. A Millennial Journey Under the Wisdom of the Moon.
From here begins the omnipresent, far-reaching cold night. In fear, doubt and loneliness. As the road spreads into darkness. Well then? My eternal and beautiful wife.
The witch Selene (Seleuvis’ Rise questline) suggests the stars and moons as representing other life forms such as the Erdtree (and related Great Wilds) when you talk to her, and tells you about Glintstone and says That it is similar to golden amber. Some charms indicate that amber is made from Erdtree sap. Selene claims that amber holds remnants of ancient life and stores its energy.
He also said that Glintstone was similar, only that the life in it was residual life, star energy. Glintstone was developed before the formation of Aardtree and represents the influence of the stars and moon before the primary rule of the Golden Order.
Renala (Ranni’s mother), Queen Caria and Radagon of the Golden Order marry, ending the war between Erdtree and Moonmoon. This implies that Erdtree and the Golden Order possibly once tried to destroy Moonmoon’s home.
Because the Great Will wants to control all of Middle-earth.
conclusion:
I believe the ending of “Age of Stars” is the “good ending” of the game, and not because of “love” memes or anything, but because the game’s story shows that the Golden Order, Aerdtree, and the Great Will is dangerous. They attempt to control the world through their influence on it and the powers they wield.
Ranni begins the destruction to end the Great Will’s rule over the planet. The quest line represents the ability to help the player in their quest
